Blood PH Level Balanced for Health

Balance your blood ph level and start balancing your health.  The blood stream carries with it the precious gifts of life.  Through my Kundalini Yoga Training I learned of the importance of maintaining a healthy ph level.  However, it wasn’t until I put this knowledge into practical experience that it truly integrated.

The basic concept is simple, as humans we should strive to maintain a blood ph balance that is not acidic.  Sounds simple right…WRONG.

Unfortunately as humans many of us don’t even consider what the food and drinks we put into our bodies are doing to our blood chemistry.  Here’s the deal when the blood that courses through our veins is more acidic in nature it creates an environment for dis-ease.  This dis-ease can manifest as simple irritation, “I feel irritable.”  Well your living in an acidic environment I wonder why you are irritable?  And that environment produces a fertile ground where more serious diseases can gain hold and manifest, then you can really be in trouble.

So what can we do?

Well it’s time to take a long hard look at what we are putting in our bodies, let’s start with a big on COFFEE.  I know what you are saying, “I can’t start my day in the morning without my cup of Joe.”  To that I’d say is it really just one cup, or is it several cups.  When one goes to the coffee house the various blends may actually have on them an acidity level.  That right there tells you how much acid you are putting in your body.  I feel ya on this one, I really enjoy a nice cup of quality coffee.  But here’s what I’ve learned, in the mornings I can substitute tea.  The acid in take in slightly caffeinated tea is significantly less than a cup of coffee.  Now the human body is excellent at taking things in moderation and processing them, so as a compromise I allow myself one cup of quality coffee per week.  I usually take this on the weekend while doing some light reading or up at the Farmer’s market when in season.  This allows that little coffee bug in my head to be satisfied as well as the morning warm drink + caffeine combo to be achieved with the tea.  BOOM I’ve just decreased the level of acid in my body and helped balance my blood ph level.

Coffee in moderation is just one means of balancing the blood ph level.  Another method and one of my favorites is the Breath of Fire Pranayam, (yogic breath) taught in Kundalini Yoga.  It’s a beautiful aerobic exercise that balances the blood chemistry, increases lung capacity and deepens ones yoga practice.

I suspect that in the years to come as more and more people become aware of the importance of blood ph levels that they will intuitively know when they need a blood chemistry adjustment, and I’m talking about a natural means of it.  For example, let’s say one has that cup of coffee and they notice that they are feeling irritable later in the day, well one could tune in and perform the breath of fire to help alkalize the blood ph level.

Imagine millions of people healing themselves simply by paying attention to their own blood ph levels and modifying their behaviors accordingly… here’s one way to suck costs out of the health care system.
